About Owner Emeriti, Jean and Buddy Ballin
Mother and Father to Steve and his sister, Barbara, plus grandparents to Steve’s three and Barbara’s two, Steve learned from the best of the best. Partners in business with Steve when he became part owner in 1992 and now minority owners with Steve, Jean and Buddy who are now retired but still like coming around to say hello to their friends and old customers. Both, Jean and Buddy grew up in Memphis in retail. Jean’s father was general manager of Levy’s department store and Buddy’s dad was a pharmacist with pharmacies in Memphis. Buddy and Jean were partners with Jean’s parents, operating Freudberg’s, a small chain of women’s clothing stores operating in Memphis from 1959 to 1992, and both really know fashion and retailing. With retirement, Jean and Buddy love spending time with their family.
